Finding our super power

There’s not much to add here, other than, “Awwwwww, go on… Have a watch”.

Depending on who we are and how we work self reflection can be a tool to abuse ourselves with or enhance, what I love about Amy Cuddy’s Ted talk is just how easy change can be - and just how simple techniques can make the difference.

Personally, I love a power stance, I am rather fond of a good old fashioned (get ready) Haka type pose and occasionally a little dance to strengthen my morale when it ebbs… Not the most attractive thing to look at but, from the inside-out, it feels great! … I suspect that’s the whole point of the Maori dance.

What I also really love, from way back when, when I took Burlesque classes (a looooong time ago) was the top tip to feeling sexy for women or people who identify as women - is to hold your body in a sexy position (nooo! Not that way!), imagine a 1950’s image of a woman, sitting, back arched, hand to her mouth, looking up with a look of surprise… A though she has accidently sat on something (you can most definitely use your imagination here) quite surprising..Just the simple act of arching one’s back can have a seductive feel to it that can remind our body that we feel good and we are ready to ‘want’. its equally similar for men, imagine that strong 1950’s image; centred, standing with your back slightly arched, shoulders back, chin up, looking into the middle distance, or the classic 1970’s ad (for those who remember) man at C&A pose.

As we invite our bodies into these spaces, our mind simply assumes we are. Simple, uncomplicated, Brilliant! :)
